Crazy About Music Books
We stock an eclectic variety
… And if we don’t have it, we’ll get it!
I have to admit that I am a little crazy about books. My music room is lined with them: fake books, music theory books, songbooks, play-a-long books with CDs, and biographies of famous musicians. Those books have served me well over the years. I always have material to practice. I hear a song I would like to learn, and I probably have the music to it. If I want to find a new chord voicing for an arrangement I am working on, I have chord dictionaries with lots of suggestions. I even decorate the lesson rooms with vintage books for inspiration!
Books are a great value. Compared to the cost of the instrument, and supplies such as strings or reeds, books are a very small percentage of the money you spend enjoying music. And if you walk in to your lesson with a new book, your instructor will be thrilled to have fresh learning material. So we are stocking up on books. We have books on ear training, music theory, technique, styles, and basic methods in classical, rock, jazz, and blues. We also have notebooks for students with blank manuscript for all instruments and tab for guitarists.
